MyStoryBuddy (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the MyStoryBuddy mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our app.
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials through our identity provider (Auth0).
Voice Recordings: To enable our voice cloning feature, we collect a voice consent statement and voice samples that you voluntarily record. These recordings are used exclusively to create a personalized voice model for narrating stories within the app.
Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the app, including stories created and subscription status.
Purchase Information: Subscription and purchase records are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We store purchase validation records for entitlement purposes.
We use your information to:
• Provide and maintain the MyStoryBuddy service
• Create personalized AI voice models from your recordings
• Generate and narrate bedtime stories in your cloned voice
• Process subscriptions and manage your account
• Send account-related communications (e.g., email verification)
We take the protection of your voice data seriously:
• Voice consent recordings and samples are stored securely in encrypted cloud storage and are never made publicly accessible.
• We do not share, sell, or distribute your voice recordings or voice models to any third parties.
• Your voice model is used solely for generating narrations within the MyStoryBuddy app for your account.
• Voice cloning and text-to-speech are processed through ElevenLabs, Inc., a third-party AI voice technology provider, under strict data processing agreements.
Your data is stored on Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure with industry-standard security measures including encryption at rest and in transit, access controls, and secure authentication.
Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device using platform-specific secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore).
We retain your account data and voice models for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account:
• All voice recordings and voice samples are permanently deleted from our servers.
• Your AI voice model is permanently removed.
• Your account information and associated data are deleted.
If your subscription expires or is cancelled, your created stories will no longer be accessible for playback, but your voice data remains until you delete your account.
We use the following third-party services:
• Auth0 — Authentication and identity management
• Microsoft Azure — Cloud hosting, data storage, and AI story generation
• ElevenLabs, Inc. — AI voice cloning and text-to-speech services
• Apple App Store / Google Play Store — Payment processing for subscriptions
These services have their own privacy policies. Your voice recordings are shared with ElevenLabs solely for the purpose of creating your personal voice model and generating story narrations. No other personal data is shared with ElevenLabs.
MyStoryBuddy is designed for parents and guardians to create stories for their children. The app is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Voice recordings are provided by adult users only.
You have the right to:
• Access your personal data stored in our systems
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Withdraw consent for voice data processing at any time by deleting your voice profiles
By creating an account or using the MyStoryBuddy mobile application (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). Please read them carefully.
MyStoryBuddy is a mobile application that allows parents and guardians to create personalized bedtime stories narrated in their own voice using AI-powered voice cloning technology. The service includes:
• Voice profile creation through recorded voice samples
• AI voice cloning to generate a digital model of your voice
• A library of bedtime stories narrated using your cloned voice
• Story playback for your children
To use MyStoryBuddy, you must create an account with a valid email address and verify your email. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
Voice cloning requires your explicit consent. When creating a voice profile, you will:
• Read and record a consent statement acknowledging that your voice will be used to create an AI voice model
• Provide voice samples for training the AI model
By recording your consent and voice samples, you grant MyStoryBuddy a limited license to use your voice recordings solely for the purpose of creating and maintaining your personal voice model within the App. This license is non-transferable and terminates when you delete your voice profile or account.
You may only record and clone your own voice. You must not record the voice of another person without their knowledge and explicit consent.
MyStoryBuddy offers free and premium content:
• Free tier: Access to a selection of public domain stories and one free premium story claim
• Premium subscription: Access to the full story library, available as monthly or yearly plans
Subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and are subject to their respective terms and refund policies. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
Each account is entitled to claim one free premium story. This is a one-time benefit that cannot be reset or re-claimed, even if you cancel and later resubscribe.
If your subscription expires or is cancelled:
• You will lose access to premium stories, including stories that were previously available during your subscription
• Stories created or unlocked during your subscription will not be available for playback
• Your voice profile and voice model will remain intact and can be used again if you resubscribe
• Free public domain stories will remain accessible
You agree not to:
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Record or clone voices without proper consent from the voice owner
• Attempt to extract, download, or redistribute voice models or story content
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's services or servers
All content in the App, including stories (except public domain works), illustrations, designs, and software, is the property of MyStoryBuddy or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Your subscription grants you a personal, non-transferable license to access this content within the App.
You may delete your account at any time. Upon account deletion:
• All voice recordings and voice samples will be permanently deleted
• Your AI voice model will be permanently removed
• All personal data associated with your account will be deleted
• Active subscriptions must be cancelled separately through the App Store or Play Store
The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the voice cloning will produce a perfect replica of your voice, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MyStoryBuddy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data or voice recordings.
We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy and Terms of Service at any time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or via email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policies.
